As many of you have heard my old 91 Q is toast. It was according to many one of the nicest early Q's in the country..

What should I do now?

a) buy Another first gen ( I have a parts ship sitting in front of my place w/ many nice parts that will just bolt-on)b) buy a very nicely, hi $$$ modded second Gen Q (a 94 in this case) which I like its very hard core, which means I have to go thru the hassle of parting out my wrecked 91.c) try to get a loan for a base G35, but go into a lot of debt

What do u guys think? What should Fred buy?

stick with a Q man. not sure about gettin another early one, or that '94. the '94 sounds pretty sweet, but you have so many things off your other '91 to go on another 1st gen Q. i don't kno if a '94 is still a 1st gen or what, but i would get another Q that u could transfer everything over too, from your white Q.

1G, I know it'll never be your baby, but you have enough parts for a good start on another one, and it'll grow up fast enough

Infiniti never told us what their take on it is.

Most PPL agree that:

First Gen: 90-93Second Gen: 94-96Third Gen: 97-01Fourth Gen: 2k2+

Some argue that the 94/96 should still be considered a first Gen, they do share the VH45DE ,tho it is modified enough in 94-96 to make the 2 versions non-interchangable (at least not easily).

Also Chassis is essentially same and many parts interchangable, transmission is a different mark of the same transmission.

Thats why some consider the 90/93 and 94/96 the same gen, but most prefer the seperation as listed on top.

i think i would consider the '94-'96 Q's a second gen, because of all the differences.

yup go with the similar vintage Q , doing the same thing here , have so many parts for a 1rst gen G20 that it would be dumb not to go back , like max said ir will go up fast

Go with either A or B. lol Not fun being in debt. well I aint really but my mom was so far in debt that she had to file bankruptcy. Now she's stuck with my old car until its paid off and I have my car soo we have 3 cars and 2 are hers now lol I got a loan for 1600 but after the final line my loan is 1847 for 18months, 102 a month is my payment for my car. But I wouldnt go in debt but thats just me.

I like that one you showed me. :) The dark greyish one and all.

Go with the 1994 since many of the improvements to your 1991 would bolt on, thus minimizing the parting out of the old one...the best of all worlds.

Then you could repair the 1991 and strip it out to the street racer you always wanted.

I'd go with the 94. Whatever parts won't swap from your 91 are sure to sell quickly. I'm not sure how big the Infiniti population is at NICO, but if it is anything like the 240 crowd your parts will get eaten up quicly. Yes it's a pain, but a newer car is always fun.

The ONLY problem I would foresee, is having a vehicle that has already been modded by another owner. Unless you know the guy (or gal), that can be a risky proposition. You never know how hard they beat on it. I also like to turn my own wrench so I know that it has been done right, or if not it's my fault and I have no one else to blame. Any projects that are over my head and I have to resort to a professional, I'm right there watching, learning, and helping when I can.

Either way, it's good to hear that the search is on for another!!!

Buy another first gen and swap parts from your wrecked first gen. It'll save a lot of time and hassle, plus it's a nice car.

I voted for the 94. If it can be worked out this is the one I would buy of these choices. From what I had heard about this car, it sounds amazing.

I will tell details when I know I can have it.If I can't well, there are some great 91's in our Buy/Sell/trade section also.

I would steer clear of debt at all cost. G-35 is a nice car and I would buy one if I could afford it. Saw a new Q45 the other day. Thing kinda looked like a Battleship. Was wondering what the white BB-62 was painted on the side.

Ah, Fred, could you define "professionally modified"?

I mean, one can be "professionally serviced" and still be royally screwed, for not much money at all in a lot of places.;) Even Q45tech knows he doesn't have the resources of the Nissan engineers. My belief is if one doesn't like the stock car, then get a different one. Well engineered automobiles can be changed, but seldom improved upon. Buy what you want. If you can't afford it now, save and wait till you can afford it, can find it, or both.

And im not sure if ill be able to come to this one or not b/c if we dont get to run saturday i cant come except to the premeet here in louisville, i cant stay away from my new born that long yet....It makes me nervous, i would hate for something to happen and i be in BG, especially now that he has be diagnosed with GE reflex and spits up all the time. And that reflex makes it easy for him to get choked up. But if not Im sure there will be plenty more for me to be at.
