I am in the market for tires to put on my new rims that are coming in in a few weeks. I've narrowed my tire size to 235/35/18 in the front & 255/35/18 in the rear. Now, my pressing issue is which brand tires to get. Of course, I want High Performance tires. So, with that, I am gonna leave it to a poll...

Choose your favorite brand tire.

**I know there are some brand names missing, not enough spaces to put them in. But, feel free to mention them.**

**If there is a specific tire from a certain brand name that you recommend, again, please pass on the info.**

You're going to pay an arm and a leg, so any brand you find those sizes in will be max performance tires. Go with the good brands. Michelin and Bridgestone.

The cheapest ones in your sizes. What do you need high performance for? Are you a JDM mad-tyte wangan runner?

You always make a point to knock expensive high performance tires. Getting the cheapest tires possible is one of the biggest mistakes someone can make when purchasing upgrades for a high performance car. Not everyone here thinks they are JDM because they have expensive tires.

Simply put, tires are by far THE most effective upgrade you can make in terms of overall car performance. Have you ever even driven on ultra high performance tires? If not, then stop throwing out your opinion and spitting useless bits of information (or lack thereof). Thanks

Ive driven on crap tires (Khumo 711's at $50 a pop), pure sex tires (Advan A048's) and alot of tires in between (Yokohama Paradas, Toyo T1-S's, Khumo MX's, etc.). I can honestly say that I will never go back to anything with less grip than Khumo MX's. After comparing crap with gold, its amazing how much better of an experience grippy tires can provide when driving a fast car.

In terms of pure grip, Advans take the cake. The A048's are my dream tire, but they cost a ton and would last a few weeks with my driving style. Toby has a set of 235/40/18's for sale for -really- cheap, you might want to reconsider your tire sizes if you wouldnt mind driving on something that will make you look like a hero.

As far as value is concerned, I have yet to find a tire that can beat Khumo MX's for the price. I have tried other tires in the same price range but nothing even comes close in terms of dry grip. If youre on a budget, I wouldnt reccomend anything else.

I am in total agreement with whiterps13.I also have driven on economy tires to R compounds. For the past few years, I have stayed away from tires with a M+S rating (mud & snow) for obvious reasons, and my average treadwear rating is 260.The Dunlops I presently run on will be replaced by mid-summer for a total lifespan of 2 years. I have a second set of Falken RT 615's that I throw on occasionally, that I actually prefer over the Khumo MX.That doesn't mean I wouldn't buy the Khumos again, it just means I am willing to try something different. Lets be real though, good tires are not cheap, certain sizes will be even more expensive, but aside from gasoline, tires are one of those things you need and will need to replace. Constantly. I am sure those 18's will look great, but 17 or 16's will look just as good, with much more affordable performance. Good luck with your selection.

I just don't see the need for a $900 set of tires for my trips to Wal-Mart. To each thier own.

Ok, but thats a completely differant story. Go buy a Prius, youll save money on gas.

Most people on the forum actually enjoy the performance thats possible when you mod a 240sx. Id say 90%+ of the people on here use their car for more than commuting to hill-rod heaven (AKA Walmart).

I can recommend the Falken 452´s, I´ve used them for a while now and they rock!Great traction for a daily driver and nice price. I use 615´s on the weekend car.Only downside is the wear but that´s normal for a performance tire.

This was my PICK, as well. 235/35/18s in the front and 255/35/18s in the rear.
