I'm want to know which brand to choose for my s13 coupe. I have no experience with any of them so i need your input on which you guys would recommend. I want to buy performance parts from only one of these brand names and am already leaning towards greddy & blitz but i still need info on HKS and Apex. tell me pros and cons, personal experiences(both good and bad) etc. thanx :)

All those companies make high quality products (except in my opinioin GReddy exhaust SUCKS A*S). If I had to choose, I'd pick A'Pexi.

Do greddy exhausts not give good power gains or do they sound bad?

There are lots of threads comparing exhausts. :) There's at least one or two going on right now, and plenty more can be found via search.

I'd go with GReddy over HKS any day of the week. : )

Well, they are all decent brands for certain applications. But some have stronger attributes in one area, where they might be weak in another. It really is a part by part comparison, you would be hard pressed to find one overall superior after-market company.

For example, Apex makes excellent exhausts, their suspension systems are pretty good... but their electronics (turbo timers and what not) are average at best.

On a side note, I don't think any of these companies you mentioned make internal upgrades.

HKS just recently introduced internal upgrades for the SR20 like pistons and rods. Also I think Greddy makes pistons and rods for the SR20. I believe A'PEXI makes, but you'd have to special order them from Japan. Out of the four companies, it's really hard to say one is better than the other, chances are you will find parts from these companies on any high-end racecar. HKS and Trust/Greddy have been around for longer and are (in my opinion) much bigger than Blitz and A'PEXi. My personal favorite is A'PEXI, just loooovvvve the quality, plus you gotta love that they're the only company that regularly participates in the N1, but the other three companies are every bit as good.

Go Apex'i they have lots of performance parts that are good, and they got all the electronic controllers too. They get my vote.
