It's the model car you have. The X has the standard brakes and wheels - 17". Only the Journey with the sport package and S (without the X) have the 18" wheels and bigger brakes. I don't know for a fact but speculate that it is because of the all wheel drive system.maduko wrote:Bought a special edition G37xS Sedan yesterday and noticed the front calipers look like sliding variety. I thought the S had 4 pot squeezers.
Or does the all-wheel drive dictate what brakes are on the front?

I believe the only other mechanical difference is the steering rack. It seems like the shift program is more aggressive than my G37x, but I haven't been able to confirm that.BrianJC wrote:I'm looking to purchase a 2012 G37x in either the Sport or Sport Appearance.
Better question, will my spare from the factory clear the Akebono calipers? I sure hope so.TheHoth wrote:Gotta buy a spare tire that can clear the bigger calipers (do you know anyone is selling?). Still pondering going status quo with stock rotors or go all the way to DBA two piece. I guess the stock rotors will do. Would the new spare fit in my trunk under the carpet?

Yes it is a parts swap and small sections of modifications to dust shields.
