Now since I have plans to change my speedo, climate control unit, clock, I might as well replace my stereo. I was wondering which factory BOSE unit will fit and work well in my 1991? I would like to have a 6-Disc CD unit if that's possible.

You can basically buy any HU.. if its 95 and later nissan bose, you gotta get the adapter.... The regular DIN sized 6 CD in dash ones will fit and work fine..

I am using the clarion CD changer in my Q45 with the 99 G20 headunit (in dash). works great!

Will the double din 6 CD in dash work? Do they play burnt CDs?Will a Bose unit from another make car work? Will a non-Bose Head unit work without changing wires, amps etc...?

As I recall a Nis/Inf that is "standard rectangular double DIN will fit and work. IIRC, someone has done this, but the in dash 6 disc got for >$300 and the singles can be snagged off ebay for ~$125.

If the Nis/Inf Bose has the DNR button ont he lower right hand corner it should plug right in, if not it will need the adapter. It seems 90 and early 91's used different amps and may not accept the swapped unit as easily.

Any non-bose will work with the correct aftermarket harness or self wiring, I'm pretty sure someone posted the "what wires go where" how to at some point.
