I am looking at getting an electronic boost controller and wanted to see what you guys recommend.

I want it to be pretty low key as it will probably end up in the glove box or something anyway. Just wondering if a $500 unit is that much better than a $300 one.

Let me hear some opinions. I guess I just can't see that much difference in all of them.

You would spend $500 on a boost controller? Why not save a little more money and buy an AEM EMS when it comes out, it will control your boost, allow infinite adjustments to everything, run whatever peripherals you want, run a speed-density system, and log data.Or just get a manual boost controller ($100 greddy) ($3.29 -hardware strore parts).

The AEM has a built in boost control function that works awesome. Mine is steady as hell, never spikes, never goes over the pre-set limit.Does the stock SR have an electronic solenoid that controls boost? something normally operated by the ECU?If so, then yes the AEM EMS will use that, otherwise you will need to buy a solenoid. A good one to use (that AEM recommends too) is one from a GMC Cyclone.THey are onyl about $30 and work great. thats what I am running, along with a TIAL 35mm wastegate.Contact AEM for a release date, or look on their EMS forum. Yeah there is some sort of OEM boost controller but I don't know what boost level it is good for. I am uncertain if it will only boost to a certain level or what. I will eventually be shooting for about 18psi on a GT25/40R .86A/R turbo.
