Ok,Im installing my Hybrid front mount intercooler. And now its time to buy a small dry-cell battery,And iv been doing some reseach and im stuck between the two..The Odyssey PC680 Battery Or the Westco Miata battery. Both are around the same price.I think the Odyssey is smaller so i could have more room. But it might be weaker too.Gimme some input.Im going to order one today or the next..Thanks,

Just an Idea: Get a battery relocation kit from summit racing and then you will be able to get whatever battery you want, without having to worry about "will my miata battery last long?". I'm either going with Optima red or yellow....Gel Cells definately are better than dry cells.

That's what I did. Bought a Taylor battery wire kit for relocating it to the back, got an Optima redtop for a realllllllly good deal online, and it works great. Frees up some space in the engine bay too which is nice.

as for you my friend if you want to keep the battery under your hood then well you gona need to shell out the money to get a small sealed battery not a miata battery. svr, optima has them and a few other ppl. i have one i just took outa my car il sell it to you for $100. the thing is that if you live somwhere, where its gona be cold out either alot, or it gets really cold somtimes your gona have problems with a small battery nomater who its from. beleive me i know my battery was full charged and it got 25 degrees out and the next day it was dead! so if i was you id just get the swap to the trunk. plus if you buy an optima it comes with a 3 year replacment warrenty so you can do what im doing and take it back and couple years for a new one

PDM-Racing.com is selling a slim battery from a company called Genesis for $86 + shipping right now, you also have to buy their battery terminals for another $16.

http://www.pdm-racing.com/products/power.html scroll 3/4 down

Also DGTrials' Festive Garage is selling a slim battery but for $167 but I dont know if it's a better brand or what.

My brother and I both use Westco with no issues. Anyway, the issue of relocating the battery to the trunk is if you go out to the street legal drags you need to make sure you have an external kill switch that works or else you're not going to be dragging.

I use a PC680 battery and would recommend it unless you have some giant audio system. I havent had any problems draining the battery and I think the PC680 is the cheapest dry cell battery you can buy. I think I got mine for under 80 shipped off of a seller on ebay that just sells odyssey batterys

you shouldnt have a problem at all with a slim battery dying in cold weather.my car sat for 6 months.i started it once a month.i have a optima yellow top slim batt up front.that battery never even should any signs of a weak start.
