Hey peeps I want to get some opinions about my 240 from some reliable sources instead of non-enthusiasts. I've got a couple of options that I'll present and you all give your inputs, ok here we go with the scenario. My 240 is my dd but I'm also planning on making it a project car. In the end I'm gonna have an RB swapped DD that I can take to the track and car shows as well. I'm trying to scrape together every dollar I can to make this happen. To obtain my goal I committed to only spend $$ on the car to keep as a reliable DD while I save up enough cash for my ultimate goal. Recently I came across a body shop that will repair the dent in the side of my car for $100 and I can get the car back the same day.(see below)

Granted this dent doesn't affect the overall reliability of the car, but it would be nice to have a smooth side, and for $100 I do plan to get a body kit in my project car build up and therefore the dent will eventually get taken care of one way or the other. SO what do you all think; should I get the dent fixed now, or should I wait??? Thanks in advance for you inputs. ??

Ok.... I don't want to be a spoilsport but if someone says they're going to fix THAT dent for a hundred either they're not sharing the whole story with you or they're going to do the most piss-poor job you'll ever see in my experience and opinion. A rear 1/4 dent, especially one that goes up to the seam, usually costs on the order of a thousand plus to repair and paint properly. I don't see how they can fix that dent without either replacing that quarter panel or pulling it and filling it with enough bondo to make a bust of Jesda's head.

That is not completely true and whoever you have do your body work is screwing you for a $1000 plus. That dent doesn't look like it goes all the way to the door jam, could be just me.

Anyway, I cannot really answer this question the best only because if you have the money laying around than go for it. Otherwise, unless it bothers you if is not really affecting you in anyway, so wait until you have the rest of the body work done with it.

You could drill holes to pull the dent out yourself, bondo/fiberglass it back smooth and rattle can a paint job on it. If you're eventually going to put the kit on in and have it done professionally, a twenty dollar paint job seems like it would do the job for now.

I suppose if you wanted to use half a tub of bondo after you pull that sucker. It goes right up to the seam, its never going to line up close to correctly, and pulling it could split the edge. The thousand plus was assuming they have to get a quarter panel. Sorry but I consider pulling a dent that big and filling it with bondo sloppy work. I'd rather not have my car's side burst into flames when a spark from someone's cigarette hits it.

My hyperbole aside, $100 is too good to be true and a guarantee of sloppy work you'll regret. Wait and do it right or don't do it at all.

100 bux?

After you get it back, you should be fine.

Provided you never hit a bump else the giant piece of bondo will pop off and shatter into a million pieces on the road.

Cool, thanks for the advise folks. I've just been indecisive about this whole situation.
