Performance drivers made the superior 300zxtt system fade easily and so can any driver on a Q with any pad and any up graded system ---------just drive it hard enough. A single max stop from 150-120 will prove me right.

It only takes flooring it for 60 seconds to get to 150 mph.For those on H rated tires stop and test from 120 mph only takes 30 seconds [less 25-27] to get there........finding a safe place is the hard part.

granted q45 teck.they also use up pads in one day.under normal and slightly elavated driving.no fade hereyou know70 in 25 mph turns100 on 55mph..accually there is a break in run in which requires fading to complete break in on certain pads.i can fade them on my street if i really tried, and its a very small block.and w/the antiskid crap which i would like to chuck altogether.i go thru a set of sz50 every 7 months with off wheel rotation.you might say i work them.brakes that is.going back to topic my answer, dont know.wouldnt use either.

Who has the Turbo Supra on the board? Maybe a quick inspection would give a clue.

I've got one. Supra brakes are fantastic (nicest stock brakes I've seen this side of Porsche), and would make a great upgrade for the Q. The bolt pattern on the rotors is the same, and I'm sure you could get an adaptor fabbed up to mount the calipers but the problem would be wheel clearance for the much bigger calipers. With decent size 4 piston calipers the outboard side of the caliper becomes a lot thicker. You'd need a (probably 17") wheel with at least 2.5" of clearance from the rotor face based on a quickie measurement. With 98 wheels, my 95 only has about 1.5" of clearance.

That kit that allows you to use 3000GT rotors might not be a bad solution if it's well made. The problem with the brakes on the Q is that there's only so much rotor you can stuff in a 15" wheel, and rotors are too small for the weight of the car. For street use the caliper/pad size is probably fine. 4 piston calipers are nice, but aren't really necessary unless you spend time on a racetrack where the flex 2 piston calipers allow tapers the pad and increases pedal travel.

Thanks, EWT. Fabricating a caliper mount or four seems like an inexpensive investment if the Supra Brakes can be adapted. I notice that wheels are cross-sized to a Supra and Q45 are marketed on Ebay, so if 17" will cover the rotors, this may be the best upgrade available for the price.

Anymore information very welcome.

Sounds like a prety good idea for an upgrade, to me. If anyone wants to try it, I'd like to see the results.
