Nismo can actually void your warranty because it's R-tune. I got it because I got fooled into thinking that it actually adds 5.5 hp to the rear, and because it was on sale for $180.00. Rain + CAI is not good so I'm back with my k&n drop-in for the mean time.rmezz13 wrote:good pole, but i believe nismo to be the most popular with Injen a close second when all is said and done.... Nismo for warranty reasons. Injen because it is the best. JWT - FTW of quick add ons vs drop in filter. *IMO*
you didn't vote....Viggy75 wrote:injen dual cia
The nismo intake comes with a piece that stops water from getting into your engine bay, I think you'd pretty much have to submerge your filter to get rain into there.xjmxstac wrote:Rain + CAI is not good so I'm back with my k&n drop-in for the mean time.
Actually most CAI's will add hp and tq over the whole powerband. But they do tend to peak at higher rpms. You will not loose power from installing a CAI.Zenpato wrote:Cold Air intakes have shown to actually lose some low end torque on the DE and are only beneficial if you are looking for top end power. Stillen , JWT or an 06 air box for DEs are best , HRs are a different beast altogether.
sadly, some parts of the freeway and roads here get enough water to submerge the filter, even then the air bypass it suppose to prevent hydrolock, but i will not risk it. San diego roads (at least most that I go through) aren't built for heavy rain, therefore lack proper storm drainage.aris_unlimited wrote:

Ahh, yeah. You have a legitimate reason then. I lived in Cali for a year and the highways there don't drain water at all. So a decent rain comes along and suddenly you've got huge standing puddles on the highway.xjmxstac wrote:sadly, some parts of the freeway and roads here get enough water to submerge the filter, even then the air bypass it suppose to prevent hydrolock, but i will not risk it.
