I want some that are going to have some tight and good sounding mid-bass. But without having to go with a component setup. I want to stick with the 2-ways if possible. Thanks guys. Alpine

not gonna bother looking up the specs on all your choices, I had polks in my mr2 and was very happy with them, look for the set with the highest db rating (anything over 90 is good), with rated rms input of what you intend to put to them

i went with the infinity reference series. They're cheap, (around 40$ shipped ussually cause they're older models) but from a trustable brand name company. Plus, they sound great.

Pop into the audio forum and I'm sure the audio gurus can give you suggestions and the reasons behind them.zeroforum/99

I'd skip on the Alpine speakers. I know thye make great head units, but havent heard about theyre speakers. From my limited knowledge, Polk db's would be my choice...

Actually it's all preference. To me, if you want the best, you have to go with infinity kapas series. But also remember that unless you amp the speakers, you'll be running off your decks pre-amp outputs which is ussually around 20-25 watss rms on each. So without an amp, most of them will sound the same anyways.

ended up getting the Polk DB's ...they sound ok..the highs are ok and the mids are nice. I need to get them on an amp other than the headunit. However I do suggest that anyone get component speakers..it's just so hard to get good highs when the damn tweeters are in the floor at your feet and behind your head aiming up! It was a pain in the AZZ putting them in...i fell asleep in the garage doing it...
