Ok, I have a bit of a delemma here. I bought a 1990 fastback 240 with the SOHC engine. The body is pretty banged up (roof flexed and all) The suspension is screwed and it needs all new tires. The car has 150k miles and the interior is almost perfect. The engine is running pretty good. The automatic transmission lags a little between gears (people say it might just need a new transmission filter). I payed $1,100 for the car. Should I keep this one? Or should I go with my dream and look for a coupe with the Ka24de and a standard transmission 91-94? I have a 1987 Toyota Supra Turbo with targa top and all options (alternator is out and the windshield is cracked). I was thinking about selling the Supra and searching for the kind of 240 I REALLY want or just trading the Supra for a 240sx I really want. The Supra is worth about 4,500$ Someone with a pretty nice white 92 coupe was interested in trading it for my Supra but I haven't heard from him in about a week. I want to build a purely N/A 240sx. Straight power, no boost. Ideas and Opinions anyone? What should I do?

A good 91-93 240sx coupe should cost you no more than $3000. If you want to go newer and get an s14, you could probably afford to if you sell the Supra. which it doesn't sound like you drive much with those repairs needing to be done. It's really up to you though, sounds like you really want the s13 coupe. If you do, then by all means get one.

it sounds like both of your cars are less than what you want, so why not unload them both and get something you will really enjoy. good luck with whatever path you choose!

Well I do like the later like 97-98 model 240sx but I seem to have an adversion to the 95-96 (headlights I guess). And I doubt the 97-98 would sell in my price range for a decent one. However, if I get like a 93 coupe then I would have a decent amount of cash left over to put into it. And by the way if anyone is interested in a trade then please feel free to let me know. Like I said I have the 240sx fastback and the Toyota Supra. The Supra is a inline 6 twin cam turbo. Stock 230 horsepower. Every option imaginable. And here is a pic of it. The Supra is actually worth more than a 240sx coupe 91-94 so I might end up just selling it but I might do a trade anyway. I am hoping to get a coupe 240 ASAP because I want to get started working on it. I am also probably starting a job real soon so I want to hurry and get the car I want. It would be annoying to put a plate and insurance on the Supra to get to work and then have to change it all when I sell it. I sorta like the convertibles too.

I'm kind of in the same position as you. I have a 90 hatchback, that I'm not completely satisfied with. Mostly cuz of a lot of little minor things that I keep having to fix and some stuff I can't. The coupe has really been growing on me and I would love to find an affordable DOHC, non-pignose. I've only got about $2k to spend right now though, and they're not very common in my area. The fact that I want to find a better one has kept me from putting any real money into this one(even for better windshield wipers and headlights), cuz I keep hoping I'll find something better. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. My advice to you is wait to find one that is really nice and you will be happy with. I bought this one cuz it was the first one I could find, but in hindsight I wish I would have waited some more and found a better one.
