I am just looking for input on which 2 way to buy. i have had the nismo gt pro and i sold it with a car, and now my new project is almost ready and i'm not sure if i want to get a kaaz, cusco, nismo, or some other type. If you have a 2 way, please put what you do or dont like about it, and what type it is. Thanks alot.

well, if your into drifting, people say that a 2 way will cause some understeer.

i'd go with a 1.5

what brand, that i don't know.

ATS is also the harshest on the market.

it all depends on how much you drift and if you daily drive the car.

ATS would be great for drift only track car. NOT for a daily driver. vice versa a NISMO street one is good for daily driving but will sacrifice performance for a track only car.

for drifting, 2 way is the best most people say. its not understeery, and can grip aewsome.

i have a kaaz, if i could do it over again, id get a ats deft force no questions asked. they make the other lsd;s look like brittney spears.

i have never driven on a 1.5 way. is that still clutch type?? i liked the 2 way alot. the car is for drift. mainly on the track, but canyons and mountains every once in a while too. I havent hear much about ATS. anyone know where i might be able to find some sort of review on diffs? thanks for everyones input too.

well, my last diff felt like it wanted to rip the transmission right out of the car, so a little smoother would be nice, but my main concern is performance. i would rather give up comfort for performance. it is not a daily driver, so i'm not too worried about how smooth it is, although if i could have it smoother and perform just as well, i would. but thats like having real stiff suspension, and not having a bumpy ride. u have t sacrafice one for the other (unless u've got EDFC)

so you had the real nismo gt pro, if you want something less jarring, you're giving up some lock up, but the cusco, i cant remember rs or mz, is supposed to be the hardest locking without harshness, otherwise the tomei is supposedly the same as a kaaz, ats isn't that bad i dont think, my friend has daily driven it for 2 years + now, but i can see why people would complain about it.

anyways, cusco sounds like the way to go for you, or the us nismo is pretty much a stock unit rebadged so it wont be too harsh to save a little money sicne the cusco is pricey.

stock unit rebadged? 240 never came with a 2way lol

us nismo (the cheapy) i think is made by kaaz and tomie depending. or maybe its nismo and kaaz make tomei.

well thanks for ur guys' input. I have been leaning torward a cusco after doing a little further research. I found the RS for $990 and the MZ for $850. if you guys know where i can find a better deal or have any more info on either of the two, let me know. Thanks again

no, the us nismo lsd is the stock clutch type from the z31 80s 300zx just rebadged. it would be worth the money if it was a kaaz or tomei. i guess i shouldn't put it that way, its worth the money as long as you don't drift too much, it would be great for track days or autox or something probably, but i cant really say with any personal experience there. but this being the drift forum, i would say to save an extra hundred or two and at least get the kaaz if not something tougher

tomei's are custom spec'd kaaz, just for the record.

id recommend the cusco RS its the least noisy that isnt rediculously priced.

seriously guys dont recommend a diff based on what youve heard, do it based on what youve actually used...

thanks for everything. i had pretty much decided on the RS. after using it for a while, i'll post a review and give a comparison to the gt pro. i think i'm gonna weld up an open diff until i get it. even after i order it, it will be like a month until i get it. but thanks again for everyones input, much appreciated. viva nico

Yeah,i have a kaaz 2 wy in my 95 and it runs great but i heard that to it causes understeer so im going w/ a 1.5 in my 89 hb. Alot of the s13 D1 guys are running 1.5 wy. when u come of the gas does not stay locked - will help rid understeer. KAAZ great product.

you must not have ever tried anything else, Kaaz is the worst LSD ive ever felt.

about understeer, heres the bottom line

drift, buy a 2way, ignore your friends.circuit buy a 1.5way.

All i know is i herd that some of the others will start to slip and kaaz keeps it locked, and 2 wy is locked all the time even when u let off the gas therefore a 1.5 wy lets go when u come off the gas wouldnt that help in understeer?

nismo not sure who they outsource it too, its not kaaz, it seems like a cusco MZ.

yeah, different cars are different.does your friend have an RS or an MZ?
