Looking to do a set-up for a friend and don't know where to get a good price on ones. He doesn't want to pay $800 for one. And doesn't want used. Thanx for price/quality knowledge.

you dont want to cheap out on turbos when your doing a build. also, whats he planning to run? t3/t4, t25/t28. td's? supra turbos? it all depends on what turbo you would like. i have access to many a turbo, run from 400-1k depending on what you want. i also have a hks T51R SPL Turbo that id be willing to sell. but i saved for 2 yrs to get that turbo. heh. was hoping to put it on my ka-t build when i was finished.

mjmturbo.com

I personally have been there several times. They will have what you need in stock. That is all they do strictly turbos and pricing is reasonable.

Do NOT get your turbo from here. The guy that runs that place is a crook. He sent me a 7-bolt Nissan exhaust housing when I specifically told him I needed the 5-bolt Ford. When I received the turbo, I took the compressor off and there were metal shavings stuck on the oil/gunk in the housing, which he denies is no way possible because all the housings they get are completely cleaned. When I sent him the pics, he was like "ohh that's nothing." Then he told me they were out of 5-bolt housings and will have to "repair" a cracked one if I still wanted one. I bit the bullet and kept the turbo. I boosted the motor at 5psi for less than a thousand miles. The exhaust lubrication seal went out and the turbo started smoking. Yes, I did monitor my oil pressure and had the JGS oil restrictor on. But that's not the good part...the damn compressor rubbed up on the housing and chipped a fin off, which sent it into my motor and destroyed it. **** YOU BLAASTPERFORMANCE!!!! I also strongly believe they put Chinese parts in the turbochargers instead of real Garret parts like they claim. I have personally seen two turbos from Phoenix Turbo and they came in a genuine Garrett box with serial number plates. My next turbo will be from there.

wow I didnt know that about blaastperformance. I must have a good one, or this is why my turbo is smoking and no because of my lack of oil restrictor. I spool mine past10 psi and there is still no shaft play, my turbo is over a year old! Maybe I just got a fluke turbo, or maybe you did?
