I was just thinking about this seeing as I am going to order an oil pressure gauge soon. Where does it tap into? I was thinking you could get a tee and tee it off where the oil pressure switch goes, but I am not sure. Where do you guys tap yours?

if im not mistaken you get a new oil sending unit w/ the gague (i know w/ autometer electric oil press gauges you do) and on my DSM i just used the spot where the stock sending unit came from...im not sure if its the same w/ our current motor...but i figured u bein a dsm guy id throw that in there...maybe its the same

i just did away with the stock dummy light and put my auto meter sender in the place of it, granted i should have probably put in an adapter or retapped it but my friend just screwed it in there and made it fit.

it works though and doesnt leak at all. and its not goin to come loose

make sure the thread is right on the bit where you screw the gauge into, apparently (so I've just been told) jap gauges have a slightly different thread to the US (autometer and the like)

I don't like Autometer gauges...I am going to be using Defi gauges. Autometer uses standard NPT fittings... defi and other japanese companies use metric.

Under the oil filter housing, right above the seam for the oil pan.

Well if you're not going to use an autometer gauge, then that special T isn't going to help you, as it's going to be the same threads as the autometer stuff.
