where to start?
where to start?
ok so i have a 1989 240sx sohc with the hud. but here is the problem. start my car up hud doesnt work. but if i turn my running lights on then flash my hazards on then off it comes on WTF!! that is the only way it comes on ive tried a bunch of ways. when it is on it is all working fine. but as soon as i turn my runners off it turns off too. it also turns off when i turn my wipers on. it never used to be like this. ive checked and replaced all the fuses so its not a fuse. so my question is were should i start tracing my wires? and if i buy an anolog will my speedo not work?

ok now stick with me on this one, ive been looking at the diagrams a little bit and here is what i found.
I think that when you turn the combination switch to turn the lights on the HUD is finding its ground through the lights, and i found a wire that shares with the combo switch and the HUD one problem is my manual says its for 91-94, but im not sure of much changes between that and the 89 in this circuit at least (correct me if im wrong) but if you have the manual it will be alot eaiser if not search on google thats how i got mine (if you have trouble i can try to email it to you) here are the circuits ive found and highlighted for you. but also find the ground wire and be sure it is good for the HUD
The Red wire is the one i think it is shorting through so you shuld be able to do a continuity check between the hud and the lights to find out hope this helps!

HAHA its my day off dont have much to do, and im battling my own 240 problems (think i got it figured out parts on the way fingers crossed!) and had the wiring diagrams up!
But switches your right switches could do it to, but i think its just finding its ground through the lights... idk what the hazards have to do with it... maybe just give it the kick to jump the gap or something
