where to start ?

Hey guys great help on all the other mechanical subjects. But tdy i had a problem w/my car wanting to start, at first I thought it was the battery terminals because when it did not want to start yesterday all i did was clean the battery terminals and "woala" it started cranking but tdy in the morning it would not do anything at all not even the weird click sound it does when the terminals are not tight,all the electrical stuff works perfect but when I want to crank it,it does absolutely nothing no noise like if the starter was disconnected or something,the battery is in good shape,so what should i do to check if the starter is gone to heaven. Thanks guys.

Get under your car and arc your solenoid with flathead screwdriver (wear gloves and goggles, trust me!) If you don't get a spark, it's dead. Time for a replacement. On that note, take your dead starter to Napa or wherever you go and see if you can't get a core discount.

On another note, does the clock reset to 1:00 when you try to start the car? If so, then your starter might be fine, and you'll want to check the negative side of the battery. (-) Terminal -> cable -> intake manifold (I believe.)

I've had countless problems with my battery.First it would be just to positive corroding.Then I lost all connection and had to get a new clamp because it lost it's ability to keep contact.Now I started to have negative issues but after the second time I went and got a new clmap for it as well and have no more problems.My ground issue I tried to start car it clicke donce.Then I had nothing but electrical would work.Wiggeled it and it fired right up. This was my problem just seeign if you have similar symptoms
