British sports cars with rear mounted batteries generally run their battery cables under the car with no protection at all. Works for almost 50 years so there really should be no problem(This car was also in an accident and has almost 300k miles). This is on a car that is much lower than the Q. If you were close enough to damage this cable you will also hit the brake and fuel line so its probably never going to happen. You are less likely to get interference from the electric field generated in this cable. To me having such a high current cable next to the main harness doesn't seem like a good idea, at minimum I would run it through a new grommet.
Like I said, this is covered by the a plastic piece all the way to the back and this channel is on the floor pan, so the the chassis rails will be hit way before this. I understand your concern and respect it, the way I proposed is by far the easiest way to run it to the trunk. If you got in an accident you would have other wires/cables and harnesses to worry about rather than this one going to ground. Plus you have undercoating which will pretty much insulate the floor.
This is specifically all MGB's + GTs ever made which numbers almost 400,000 ever made with really no problems, at least not with the battery cable
