Here in NY we use the E-Z Pass, I believe now used in NJ andMass. Anyway, if you don't have it, it's a square while plastic thingthat you attach on the inside of your windshield, near the rear view mirrorthat gets read automatically when going through a toll booth.

My question is where does one/should one place this thing in a Rogue. This Rigue is the first car I've had with that grayed area (looks like dots)around the glass behind the rear view mirror.

Should I avoid the gray area? CAn the reader even work through it?Otherwise to avoid it, I'd have to put it "below" the mirror from the Driversline of sight, which is low enough to block some visibility.

Any opinions, actual experience, photos, appreciated.

That's where I have mine and should work there. I also use one on my motorcycle and actually keep inside a windshield pouch pocket and works fine.Randy

yeah, that thing doesn't need to be visible in order for it to work. It's basically a radio transmitter. The problem with some cars is that they have wires in the windshield (for cell phone service for example) which block/interfere with the signal from the device.

The black part of the rogue's windshield is just a sun visor type deal.

You can trade you windshield mounted pass in for a license plate mounted pass. It attaches to the front license plate frame. That is what I plan to do for my Rogue.

I don't have one (Wisconsin has freeways), but what about the card holder in the glove box?

Thanks everyone. So I can put it on the dark glass part or below the mirror,no difference. That idea of on the license plate sounds interesting.Although I'd be living in fear of getting it stolen I think.Yes, it not that hard to figure out, but with the adhesive on the velcroto attach it to your windshield being as strong as it is, changing your mind later is no simple task.

I keep my EZ pass in the glove box in the slot for cell phones or ipods and it works just fine.

Yep, it's fine to stick it to the dots, behind the rearview mirror; mine is completely invisible to me. I don't recommend the front plate tag in NY Metro because they do get stolen quite often from what I've heard should you park on the street often (my car is generally garaged).

Here in Illinois we have open tolling so we use the same type of white electronic sensor box - I just have mine stuck about an inch and a half below the rear view mirror

Since my I-pass(works on all eastern tollways) is registered to several cars, I put mine directly on the back of the passenger side of the mirror with a Velcro tab. Velcro makes it EZ to attach and move. The advantage being is it is completely out of my sightline and does not block any view.

Seriously? .......When I use my coffee mug in the morning, is it better to use the first cup holder, or the second?

EZ pass works just fine in the "grey" area above the mirror. I broke it in with a trip to AC this past week.

Oh, and the first cup holder is definitely the best...I wouldn't even bother with the 2nd one
