I'm doing more road trips again. I stopped doing them for a while other than a few regional ones here and there. I want to knock a few more out before graduating and I'm open to ideas.

There's not much left of anything major that I haven't seen in the US. Maybe its time to go to Europe or China or dig more into Canada.

I have no interest in Mexico, but I guess I'd go if a flight deal showed up and my Spanish-speaking friend tagged along.

You seem attracted to cities with big slums, how about

Cleveland (better in the summer)Camden NJ (not as bad as it used to be + across the river from PhillyNewark NJ (carjack capital of the country)El Paso (mexico is actually nicer)

For Mexico, You might like Cancun. not expensive, great palapa bars, nice beaches, mayan ruins, plus plenty of slums outside the city. Plus you can get around without knowing spanish.

Camden, NJ is a DUMP! I was just there last week. Ugh.

Come to New England, I (and anyone else who wants to come) can get you to to the best spots/attractions in Rhode Island and Mass. You'll need a week here to really get it all, though. - Herreshoff sailing museum- Newport Mansions (I think I still have tickets, too)- Boston and the historical attractions, of course.- New Bedford- home to the richest city in the world, TWICE, the setting for Moby d!ck and the physical Fishermans Bethel, and excellent clam chowder down the street from work. Oh, and I can take you through our processing plant so you can see how your Wendy's fish sandwich is made.- Jamestown- Brown Univ, Harvard- ProvidenceYou're welcome to live on my couch or air mattress for a base of operations. I live 20 minutes from Providence, about 25 from Newport, and about 35-40 minutes from Boston. Email me if you'd like.

What about DC? I know it like the back of my head. And everyone always wants to see the origins of the country and whatnot. I'll be going to Mexico next year to see the family. And spend some Corona and carne asada time on the beachside in Puerto Vallarta.

Hey, if he enjoyed Detroit and its slums, Camden is like Detroit on steroids! Camden had the highest murder rate per capita in the country for many years. . In recent years, Camden has gotten some money invested along the river. The battleship New Jersey is docked there, they have a nice aquarium, and the Sony Center where Mandy Moore might perform....uh...concerts.

It's also across the river from Philadelphia, which is rich in history and home to the culinary capital of the country: 9th and Passyunk. (Pat's Steaks....buuurp > new England clam chowda)

DC is great as well as New England for vacations. I've done both several times.

Very good points- I like DC as well and need to go on another trip there. 3 days/2nights was not enough time!

Oh, and I forgot to mention:Sam Adam's Brewery Tour in Boston with beer included > Pat's Steaks

Plus, where else can you pour a Sam Adams on Sam Adams grave for your independence loving homie?

Very compelling argument, BUT

Pat Steaks served with a cold Sam Adams > a brewery tour...

Brewery tours do rock. An old local college tradition was to go on the free Shaeffer brewery tour, which included free beer at the end. The trick was to go on the last tour of the day which lasted longer as the brewmaster tourguide was totally soused by then....

Well, come to springfield and I'll share a beer with you. Thats where I usually go. But no sexytime thing. I might have a severely violent reaction to that.

BTW, you should check out Saratoga NY too. There is a small-ish auto museum there. The park and surrounding areas are beautiful. Its one of my favorite places in the world. I suggest you check out Good Times restaurant too. Its right by Saratoga and on one of the the deepest lakes in the world or something. IDK :P

Good plan for the brewery tour. Thats what we used to do at the Newport Storm Brewery. Those guys are awesome. Partied with the owners a time or two as well.

I'll attempt to one up you on the Pat Steaks again. I'll likely fail.Brown University (where Emma Watson can be seen) > Pat Steaks

Well, I'm not sure I see how one can compare an expensive Ivy league university (that has a young female celeb as an undergrad) with a great burping sandwich..

But if I were forced to choose an ivy league university, I'd go with University of Pennsylvania (where hotter and richer Ivanka Trump graduated), because it's in the same city as Pat's steaks....

I've always wanted to drive the Alaska Highway.. Trouble is it's like 4,000 miles each way from where I live.
