I would recommend the front crossmember and the diff. for the rear. The front crossmember was recommended to me not to long ago and is an excellent place to jack the front up and put the jack stands under the chassis.

If you plan on putting jackstands on the framerail, place a 2x6 between the the stand and the frame. Overtime, you start bending/denting the framerail.

in the owners manual there are actually 4 knuckles for using the stock emergency jack and those work just fine for me

Use the tow hook to jack up the front.

That's what I always do, and I haven't had any problems. Hell, those are the jack points listed in the FSM. The front crossmember is *very* solid and makes a great jack point.

MarvynDT is definitely right about putting a piece of wood between the jack stand and the "frame rail" (not sure what you'd call it on a unibody car). I've seen pictures of those rails that have deformed by just using a jackstand without a bit of wood.

I really wouldn't rely on the emergency jack if you're going to be doing a lot of work on your car.

BTW, use jack stands if you're going to be crawling under the car. Please...

My car is so low i have to drive on boards. Or I jack it up on the rear end or I start jacking the car up by the tow hooks and go from there. Nick

WTF r u talking about masterman? uve posted that on 2 threads ive read so far. oh and i was jacking up my car last night and if u keep the jack points as far forward as possible it shouldnt bend.i kno this doesn have to do with anything but reading about tow hooks reminds me of last night. i was taking off the rear tow hook that is used to tie the car down and the bolts were really rusted so i used a bunch of WD-40 and it help to get 3 of them off but one off them was impossible! finally i got in a nice strong position and started turning the sucker. and i was pulling with all my might(thought my arms would fall off) and after about 20 mins of slowly turning this thing without it getting any easier it came off and i looked at it and i had just twisted the screw to the point where it broke off. this was a big bolt! it was rusted so well in there that it looked like it had been welded in! i couldnt believe it
