I have upgraded my J30 so far:

Cerwin Vega 2-way 6.5 up frontInfinty Kappa 3-way 6x9 in back(2) 12" Audiobaun SubsPioneer DEQ-7600 DSP / 15 band EQKicker 5 channel amp (50x4rms, 290x1)

I am asking some Infiniti 6.5 components from the GF for christmas but am at a loss on the best place to mount the tweeters. It appears the tweeters are behind the carpeted A-pilliar on the 94-97's. I dont think I can copy this, so I need to know the best place to mount the tweeters on a 93. I know placement is important so that the sound from the tweeters do not hit you before the mid and bass get to you. I was reading an article about Porsche putting them in the A/C vents on one model of the 911's for this purpose. Hate to get nit picky, but since I have my choice, I might as well go for the best placement. I am porbably going for the Infinity 60.5cs model

why not try to find the trim piece from the post '93 and have the OEM look to your install - alternativey cut your current trim piece in the same place, and mount the tweeters behind w/ the grill mounted flush

Good call. I would also add that mounting them high is a good thing. I only say that because mine are mounted low which is good for projecting a nice soundstage, but bad when anybody else gets in the car and blocks it. D a m n that pisses me off!
