Unfortunately my VH41 has bit the dust, spinning a bearing, as they all seem to be doing when operating under extreme conditions. After relentless searching online, I'm still no closer to being able to find parts unless buying direct from Nissan at a cost far exceeding the original price of the half cut.

I am looking at a crank regrind, possible machining of mains and more than likely a rebore so will need O/size rings, mains and big end shells plus full gasket set. Any help would be appreciated

You could try Garmens, they stock some gaskets for the VH45 here in Brissy. I think your best bet would be getting them from Nissan NZ, or if they are the same enough to the USDM VH41 get them from the states. Nissan Aus is a rip off for anything a bit strange.

Individual packaged parts are often 3x cost of buying a full assemby or car.

Do the math sometime a $50k car is made up of $120k in parts.

Many US dealers have an online parts sale dept. I'm guessing they mostly sell to independent service shops. Their prices are often cheaper than ordering parts from a Nissan dealer's parts counter.

Maybe you have something similar down there. Or if the savings are great enough, order and pay shipping from one in the states. http://www.infinitipartsusa.com is a sponsor here I believe...

I'm not one to payu out businesses, specially fellow Aussies, but TTZed is the most unreliable parts supply company for car parts I have ever come across.

I know of people that have waited over 6 months for very simple parts, or even just a call back. Have a search on http://www.aus300zx.com for all the horror stories...

Try Mark at MRC from Castle Hill in Sydney. If he can't supple I'm sure he can tell you where. He is on this forum some times.

cheers for the responses guys and I will follow them up. In the meantime I have ordered another front cut ex Japan and will do a straight swap to give me more time to find all the parts needed and not rush the rebuild. I have no doubts that it will be a recurring problem so I have a lot of study to do (basically seeing what all on here have done before me) to make sure I get it right first time
