Where to get Tach signal

To those of you running standalone, in particular SDS, where did you get your tach signal from for the dyno? When I tried to use the wire that feeds the tach, it was all jumpy.

Umm.... doesn't the SDS use regular spark plug wires? If so, it clips onto the wire for cyl #1.

We tried that. It worked OK, but not awesome.

I DID find out, that if the magnets are dirty, it causes a "dirty" ignition signal. I posted that before I went back later today and tried it again after just wiping the magnets off with a rag. I'm guessing they had some metal shavings on them or something. I'm going to actually put it up on the dyno next week and see how it does with load on it.
