Looking for some ka24e forged pistons. I know turbo240 have them but they are .020 over. I am wanting stock bore. I found a few but they were 9:1 in the de and 8:1 in the E. That is a little to low, i want to keep it around the stock 8.6:1.

AMSperformance is Turbo240 I think.

They only stock the .020" over ones for the 'E'. I think last I talked to Ivan, they could get whatever size you want.

If not, I don't know what to tell you. I'm worthless...

Threadjack/japanese engines have had a good rap about wearing out well, would it be possible for a ka with like say, 100,000 miles to not have to be bored?Or has anyone heard of a case like this?end threadjacksince the kae's are older than the de's, maybe that's why stock-bore forged pistons are harder to come by..???

We can get the stock bore SOHC pistons. They are a shelf stocking item at Arias.

So they DO still lurk in here! (AMS)

My engine, KA24DE, had 179k miles on the engine when I took it apart to build it with forged internals. It still had the oil cross hatch marks in the cylinders! And that was even after blowing the ringlands off the pistons...So I'm not sure about them 'having' to be bored.. No clue at all. I just honed mine, had the line checked for straightness, and rebuilt the beast. Almost 5k miles so far running 18psi and it's golden.

If only I could get AMS's toys and strap them to my motor and really put it to the test..

Well, if you are looking for cheap Arias pistons, I have a set3 pistons for 120?Plus a new one from Arias at 115 and you got a forged piston set for way under 250!!!

dont use stock bore or u will end up hunting for blocks...just go .20 over and in case u brake something u can use any block and just bore it

I think it is always best to buy matched sets of 4 pistons, cause they got to be balanced, isn't it?unless you want to balance the whole rotating assembly when you're done (which would be good as well)

My motor had over 170K when I rebuilt it and the block didn't need to be bored, just honed and checked. Blew the head gasket, so I had the head decked, that waas pretty much it.

Didn't really "need" new rings or pistons..

Also didn't need a turbo, but I did that too, heh.

My car is seriously a miracle of sorts. High milage, but 2 owners. 1991-1997 saw 170,000+ miles, then garage kept and not driven from 1997 to 2005. Drove about 10K from 06/2005 to 03/2006 and I've had it since. No rust, dents, accidents, etc.

It's really all the luck of the draw when your third/fourth/etc. owner. If people before you had good matience, your car will show it.

When calling ARIAS they will ask fo rthe number stamped on the piston and send you a matching piston.I think that they are balanced but all depends on how critical are the numbers between each piston.Anyway, I prefer to balance the whole piston/rod/crankshaft assembly with front pulley and flywheel as a set.
