how's everyone doing? quick question, i'm looking at getting LEDs and i'm finding these sites with LED bulbs for cheap (like a couple bucks at superbrightleds.com) and other sites with $4 bulbs. anyone have suggestions where to get good bulbs at good prices? kind of iffy about getting those really cheap bulbs, but if someone can attest to them that may change my mind. thanks in adv.

Try Radio Shack or a local electronics supply store.

here's a calculator to help you figure out how much resistance you need in your circuit.http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz

If this is going in your car I'd recommend checking the voltage of the electrical system under no load and then under max load.

Use the average as your source voltage. This will prevent the LEDs from burning ouut too easily

Buy them off ebay from the hong kong seller. If bought from them several times and have had no problems for the bulbs to be comeing from china i got them crazzy fast it was like 3 or 4 days. I bought about 100 for $10 and since we all know almost everything is made in china its the same quality as all the other ones out there.

and you should feel bad about supporting their economy when you buy those LED's. it doesn't matter anyways though, the US owes China so much money that they own us.

You just opened up a can of worms lol

After I finish some of my interior work log, I want to tackle a rear light LED conversion; cause I am not paying clearcorners tons of money for something that really isn't that expensive in materials.

Would you be up to the task? I have my father who is an electrical engineer, but having some more help is always wanted.

Impressive. Luxeon is one of the Lumileds LED product lines.

Moldy... what u got in mind? I am building a set for my Audi. I am using the LED array from the QX56 rear combination lamps. (just so happens to be the same array from the Pathfinder Armada). We make both of the lamps.

I just type a long response but erased it on accident...

But I'm gonna try to catch you on AIM a little later. I'd like to bounce some ideas off of you...
