anyone know where i can order stuff like this http://www.kashimura.com/car/drink.html off the internet? also stuff like this http://www.kashimura.com/car/tel%20holder.html ? ive looked on ebay and all the stuff is cheapo.

and dont tell me to save my money for performance, a cupholder would take 2 seconds off my quarter; its hard to shift clean while holding a drink with your legs! :)

damn, that one with the cigarette holder attatched is slick even tho I don't smoke anymore. I don't know what happened to Project D - they were a store around these parts that sold a lot of imported stuff like that. I guess they became known for importing lots of bodykits or something. I think they were or are now a part of autoimaging.com. all I know is their store aint there anymore. maybe check autoimaging (you may have to contact them directly), or if anyone knows anything about Project D . . .

EDIT: Upon further inspection, it seems that autoimaging IS project D. they just closed their showroom floor, but the online store is still up (obviously). anyway, try calling their number and see if they can get their hands on something like that for you. I was only at their showroom like twice, and it was a while ago, but they had lots more stuff there that isn't listed on the webpage.

wow. . i didn't even know people actually searched for this kinda stuff. . . i guess i'm spoiled (if that's what you wanna call it) cause just about every import shop that I go to has all of that kinda stuff on sale. I've probably seen over a 100 different styles of freakin cup-holders from Japan and frankly, they're all pretty cheap. Guess the Bay Area in CA is just "lucky" to be a state-side mecca for this stuff. . .

ya, well if you wanna be super cool like this girl i know with a volve, get a piece of PVC pipe, (i think like 4 inch ID, 4 inches long) and glue a piece of wood in there (circular, covering bottom hole) and screw it into your dash-BAM!!!!- cup holder. :) then get a sharpie and write G.D.M (georgia domestic market) on it

it's not really the hp difference. . . it's the composite-super lightweight-indestructable material that the JDM ones have that make them great. . . amazing thermodynamic properties that are supposed to keep your drink like 5-8 degrees cooler . . .

the material that jdm cupholders are made of is so lightweight that it creates a vaccume and actually lowers the weight of your vehicle by 10lbs on average.

(i just said jdm cause i saw a ton of jap cup/cell phone holders in a shop in california, and havent seen any since. all the ones i saw were like hello kitty and other stuff obviously jap)

Most things JDM are a little cooler to some people cuz they come from japan and can't be found here. There are items sold in japan that aren't on the USDM market. I'm sure they range from cup-holders to wierd little mascotts that don't realy do anything. That's why they are JDM. the link in chmercer's post is a Japanese website selling cupholders, that makes them JDM interior accessories.
