Gonna be boring out my engine, just wanted to see if anyone knows where to get a deck plate? I couldnt find one from jwt like i was reading.. Or is it really needed? I would say yes, but with as many builds as ive read and no signs of deck plate makes me wonder.. Either theyre not using them or they know some secrets i dont cuz i cant seem to find some anywhere..the shop im planning to use doesnt have any

Yes it is needed, I have seen a couple around but that was years ago when I had my block machined, I ended up finding a machine shop that specializes in VG30DEs (among others) that had a torque-plate. You can always have one machined but it likely wont be cheap.

What machine shop did you use? Maybe if i called them they might let me rent it i payed shipping? Maybe a pay a bunch up front? Cuz i cant find anyone here in Utah that knows these engines.. I cant even find someone to cut one for me and id coud what would that cost.. I have to hurry cuz they dont want my block taking up space in their shop waiting around to find a deck plate

I believe it was G&G Perfromance Engines in Tomball Texas. Get a hold of any of the companies that sell built engines such as IPP or Z1 and they should be able to point you in the right direction. Kyle at IPP is the one that told me that he used those guys for all of IPP's engines
