My RB20DET motorset didn't come with a starter. It's the only thing left I need to get the car running. Anyone know where I can buy a decent working starter? Sorry I'm new to the forums and can't seem to find a place.

I picked up a spare one off ebay a month ago. Still in box in my garage. I've not even unpacked it yet. I haven't tested it, so I can't garauntee it works. The seller said that "It works we chacked it out!"http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...3AIID

Sounds like you need it more than I do.

I have $25.50 in it. So, if you want it, I'll sell it to you for what I have in it, plus shipping... send me your address and I'll get a shipping quote.

I got one you can have...just pay for shipping from Japan. Should be good, was told it worked.

Is there a way to test to see if they work?

Good question... I wonder if there is a way to test if they work... Can you actually rebuild a startor like you can with an alternator or do you just have to totally buy a new one?

sometimes when i go to turn the key, nothing happends, so I try again, and it starts. now this doesn't happen all the time , just sometimes. I'm thinking it's the starter going out, what do you guys think? oh yeah, I have a RB25, is the starter the same as a RB20?

Also, check your clutch saftey switch. Look on the cluth pedal bracket at the top of the pedal assembly. There should be a button at the far end of the clutch...for example, push the cluth pedal all the way to the floor with your hand, then look for a little bracket at the top of the pedal arm that is pushing a button.

My S13 I used to have needed to get that replaced. After that, started every time.

You can find one at any local auto parts store. Should be relatively cheap. Also like he said, check your clutch safety switch as well.
