Or you could just buy a motorset for $1k. You don't need a clip for the CA. And it's only a 'clip' if you saw off the front half of your car.smdrcr_9 wrote:welll im in baltimore now.. i live in calvert county, but i have my car for sale... kinda tenatively. i have an 89 w/ a ca18.. you can buy the ca which is basically a front clip from me for 2500..
You can definitely get a motorset for $1300 shipped with harness, ECU, transmission, sensors, etc... Nobody said anything about replacing stuff. But I digress, yeah you're right... I have no idea what I am talking about. Although mine is a lot less than $2500 and its freshly rebuilt. (take a look at my sig and click on the link).smdrcr_9 wrote:its gonna take you way more than 1k to get a ca bud.. trust me thats what i thought when i bought my clip for 2k , then shipping, then handling, then blahdy blah... it adds up.. or my car which has had all the problems worked out, new timing belt, new wp, all that stuff and is proven to work cause you can drive it around.. how is that a bad deal? your saving so much money. the engine itself is stock, but i have a boost controller, boost gauge, test pipe, 3" catback.. i would sell it all off seperatly and you can buy what u want..
you fail. don't come on here with that attitude that you know all when you're wrong. I hate when newbs do that... Picked up a CA18DET motorset just afew months ago for my friend's car with everything needed to run. Replaced valve cover gaskets and clutch. Under $1500 total for EVERYTHING we used. Back in the day I paid $300 for my motor, $200 for my transmission, and $400 for my electronics (shipped prices). So don't say you need to spend $2500 or even $2k to get a swapped CA.smdrcr_9 wrote:its gonna take you way more than 1k to get a ca bud...
