Talking about the little white plastic caps that snap into the ends of the linkage arms - Autozone sells them for 98-01 Nissans but they are a hair small for the 240, I have tried all the other parts chains in my area with no luck. Nissan only sells the complete arm.

Has anyone managed to find these for our cars? Or one that works from another car? There is an assorted set at the chains for domestic cars but they all appear to be far smaller than the one we need.

Even if you can find them, you dont want them. You should just buy the links from the dealer. Only right way to fix them.

Part #'s are:

left side: Dr. side 28842-35F00 $17right side: Pass side 28841-40F00 $18

Definately cheap enough, and snaps on and done to fix.

Thanks but that linkage is $27 from my local dealer, and I don't really have enough parts I need right now to justify paying shipping from Courtesy or Midway.

The replacement bushings are $5 for a pair, and I don't see why they wouldn't work - they have radial cuts so they can be drifted on without damage, and snap into place.

In the meantime I managed to get an entire linkage assembly for $10 from a local salvage yard but I am not sure how long they will last once I snap that arm off and put it back on.

He is charging you price6 which is the higher list. That dealer will sell them at the prices I posted if you go up to the counter and have a clue what your talking about. Tell him the part# you need and tell him that you need the list price, not the matrixed up price6. If you just go up to the counter and insist that you need the nylon poly bushings, then the parts guy is gonna give you the higher list price because he doesnt know you know any different. Just speaking from the other side of the counter. That part lists at the price I gave you.

You don't know my local dealer - they are owned by Michael Jordan, their markup is usually about 20% over what other dealers tell me is list price (gotta give Micheal his cut), and they are not willing to sell to the public at wholesale - not to mention all these parts are special order and they are even more reluctant to work with you on these.

In any event, I just checked and my driver's side pivot is sloppy while the one I got from the junkyard is in good shape, so I'll probably just go ahead and swap the whole thing out.

It might be more work to get it all in without taking it apart, but they seem to have gotten it out intact so I am going to try.

Those prices I gave you are straight list price. I also show $27 in my price6 column. At no point did I give you a wholesale price. And, Michael Jordan owns a Nissan dealership??? Really. What dealer is that, I work at Admiral Nissan in AC, I am gonna call and get a price on something from them, dealer to dealer, see what they charge me.

Micheal Jordan Nissan, (919) 489-3800

To be honest I haven't tried recently to get them to deal on parts, but back when I first got my 240sx around 2001 they were a little hard to deal with. I haven't driven it all that much the last few years, until recently, so haven't had to buy much for a while - but I just got used to buying from Midway or Brown and Brown and ordering a lot of stuff to offset the shipping cost.

I'm gonna bet though if you go there with the part # and that list price, they will give you the deal. If not, sux that they are such hard asses.
