Looking to either fix or replace my driver's seat...My lumbar support no longer seems to work (stuck on flat), and the foam is feeling pretty flat.

Lumbar support button whirrs when I press it but I can hear it click-clicking as if the motor works but it's fallen off a track or something.

Would love to know either how to fix the lumbar support, if I can insert more foam to bolster the seat, OR where I could find a nearly-new tan leather driver's seat. I fear that junkyards would be tough to find a working seat, and wouldn't know how to test it there anyways.

Any ideas? Thanks!

i never took apart the fgy33 lumbar, but on the g50, there is literally a bar with linkage that gears off the motor and pushes the plastic back form out. that linkage bar can crack (had that happen on one g50).
could possibly be welded back, i simply found a replacement.
are you sure your seat is 'tan'? could be. but on my 97, the paint was kr5 (same pewter color as it looks from your avatar), but the interior code was 'J' (silvery green).

That is very odd that part failed, these last forever...my 84' 300ZX lumbar still works. I would find a good tuck and roll shop and have them take it apart and recover. I suspect that will be a sure way of getting 100% good results with new cover and fresh foam, it is easy to replace that. I have had several fixes to my old 300ZX with great results using the original seats and getting re-done.

BadQ45t- What do you mean by "tuck and roll" shop? How much do you think that would cost? Thanks guys.

3Q Jay- I do have the Kr5 paint, I'll check on the interior color code. It definitely LOOKS tan.

Sorry, I guess I am dating myself and showing my SoCal Roots, Upholstery shops that recover and restore existing interiors. I think if I were you I would look for one of these shops, get them to remove the seat and see what is going on.
