My 01' QX4 seat cushions are looking very worn and starting to show some early cracking. Unfortunately all my google searches have failed to turn up any third party custom leather covers. I want an OEM factory fresh leather look to these front seat bottom cushions.

I'm looking for ideas.. I'm not having much luck going the used parts route... Is a local auto leather shop my only option?

Thanks!

My 01 QX$ bottoms are lookin pretty beat to, even the backseat cushion bottom is beat.

I was thinkin of just removing them and getting them recoverred but that would probly cost an arm and a leg.

Covers/premades would be AWESOME

Only site I now of for covers its catzkins, I'll see what they got.

PLEASE do post back if you find anything though

Today, I just swapped the driver side seat bottom to the passenger side and vice versa. It's a little time consuming, but can be done. I'm generally fairly careful getting in and out of the Q so that I don't 'drag' my butt across the edge of the seat and cause more cracks and such. But after 11 years and 146k miles I did the swap due to a few cracks.

You'll have to unbolt 4 bolts (12mm) from underneath each seat bottom and unhook all of the wiring connectors and remove. Note: I didn't remove the entire seat, just the seat bottom. Unfortunately, the metal pans on the seat bottom are L & R specific, but that's not a problem. Pry apart all of the hog rings (15 on each seat bottom) and remove the leather/vinyl and cushion from the metal. Swap metal pans and reassemble in reverse order.

Side note: although the edge of the seat bottoms should last a few years before cracking, the edge that you'll now slide across getting in and out will now be vinyl instead of leather. From the factory, the inside edge of the seats are vinyl. So, if you do the swap, the outside edge will now be vinyl.

BTW, this is on a 98 QX4.

Hope this helps.

My passenger seat looks mint, but the driver seat is terrible. Bottom portion most towards the door, it looks like its just rubbing away.

I see sets regularly on ebay in different colors. The site where I get all my OEM parts claims to have them in graphite and olive. A bit pricey though.

Now these are by no means a perfect solution, but at the cost they don't look bad (I sent a message to a couple people on eBay who bought them who said good fit and decent enough quality). The front ones seem great to me (though you'd lose your passenger seat back pocket).

The back seat is essentially a one piece though so you lose the split folding seat which wouldn't work for me. I think the dude sells the front seats without the rear if that's what you're looking for, and seems like decent colour options:

Another solution is going to a local upholstery shop.
