Hi ive been out of the loop and was wondering if any new developments have been made in the idustry of front clip and motor set sales. Theres a place in New Jersy that sells clips but was wondering if theres anywhere thats hands down cant go wrong going to get a great motor type of place. Im looking for an s14 clip. Will not buy the motor set because i dont want to run around looking for misc. parts. The motor has to be really clean and run perfect. Its going into an s13 hatch with 60K miles thats been garage kept since 1991 and never seen snow and rarely rain. Basically i dont wann aput a junk motor in a perfect car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As soon as i sell my GN i'll be buying the clip. Please let me know. My #'s 516-256-6238 if youde like to call. Thanks again.

What kinda of parts would you need to "run around" and get if you dont buy a clip. The SR is a direct drop in. The extra parts that will be needed to get it to run are going to be the same with or without a clip. Not unless unless you want to run stock BOV, intercooler, etc. But with the money you save on a clip you can go aftermarket which will be a lot smarter. I dont see any reason to buy a SR clip just for a motorswap. Hell my motorset is damn clean and it was only 1800 to my front door.

You dont need to buy a front clip.

If you buy from someone reputable.

From the sounds of it, you should buy from HeavyThrottle if youre not wanting a single problem no matter what.

I personally bought my engine from JHOT Imports and nothing but great guys. Me and my friend got our super clean motorsets(Side Mount, Piping, BOV, ECU, Wiring Harness, Fuel Pump, downpipe and other aftermarket items) from them as well as my silvia front end. Only thing wrong out of all of it was a blown turbo that cost $350 to rebuild.

Honestly, you should expect a problem or two, if you dont thats when you get bit in the ***.

Well with the clip you get everything and the car runs. I will be running the stock BOV pretty much stock everything including A/C with the exception of a FMIC. I dont have the workspace or time to have it sitting layed up for too long while i look for missing parts.

Whats in Poughkeepsie? I will drive somewhere to get the clip. Im not buying anything sight unseen or compression tested and run myself. Thanka alot!!

You don't need a clip AT ALL. Motorsets come with everything you need to get it running.

Kind of ironic thats where i bought the car. I need the clip because i took the stock motor out of the car the SR is going into already. Everything came out. Radiator, fan, shroud, pretty much i have an engine bay and thats it. I'll deffinitely drive there to pick it up for sure.

....thats ok! All you need to do is get an aftermarket radiator, and E fans, and you're good to go!

Fine i'll get the motor set. But you can count on me cursing you for every missing bolt im running around like an As**ole looking for.

Well i thought about it for half a second and im going with the clip. Im putting the A/C back in the car as well and need the lines. Also the stock intake setup doesnt come witht the motor set.
