Venus-Auto is the cheapest and vickie rocks...but be prepared to possibly have problems, however they seem to always make things right.

yeah true.

I am expecting to have problems with my motor.

If not, Iwill be happy that I saved 1000 bucks. I did have a question though

You know how people say I dont get my motors from a junkyard...then where do they get their motors.....If so, what do they do, buy a car and cut it up. Even then...how do they come off charging that much more.....for a used engine. used is used i thought. Maybe there is a difference between junkyard used and driven used....LOL. They are still used and probalby abused.....off soapbox now

I got my motor from venus and everything seems to be great. I had a broken motor mount and they rembursed me for it very quickly. I would recommend them to anyone. Just be prepared, because problems do have a way of happening. But, then again problems happen to anyone from time to time.

Definately, I totally agree. No company is going to be perfect, especially since the motors and front clips that are purchased by importers are basically from the "junk yards" . Secondly, even if the motor/front clip did start up perfectly, it doesn't mean that there won't be problems once you get it there, I mean sometimes the shipping company can damage your merchandise. After all everyone takes a risk when buying a used engine from oveseas, but that's the chance you take when you decide to purchase any engine that's been sent to a wreckyard. You can't really blame the importer, they take the same risk when purchasing the cars. They purchase them from the yards, then send them here. Even though they may start them up and everything seems fine, you never know simply because generally the cars have been sitting there for quite some time. The cars can be sitting there anywhere from a month to a couple of years.

not even that .it's more of how the motor was taken care of. i got a clip from a friend who couldn't cough up the rest of the money to do his swap. but anyways the clip had 51,000 km's on it. the oil looked like they changed it once maybe. but hey i got a s13 and a rb20 clip for under 2,000$ and the car had a exhaust and struts and springs.but it's better to rebuild these motors if you ask me.

Yeah...I was looking at a clip (as posted in another thread) with 40,000 miles on it that had 150ish compression (I dont think the test was done very well and I really doubt it was warmed up). But even at that...thats down about 25psi from new, on an engine with only 40k on it...the japanese dont always take the best care of their cars! Of course, I've seen a TON of crapped out rustbucket american cars too.
