I recently bought a replacement filter from the dealer for $32 + tax. I can get it cheaper elsewhere, but where is everyone buying their filters from? I can't find them at Wal-Mart, Auto Zone, or Advanced Auto Parts. I haven't checked O'Reilly's though. Anyone have suggestions and prices?

I didn't realize they had gone up so much. At 15,000 miles I bought two for $20 each from my dealer. At 30,000 miles it was included as part of a comprehensive service coupon price that they wouldn't take more off of for not doing the filter. I still have the extra filter in the garage for the next change but I plan to use it for the next time I change it myself.

All I have replaced so far is the engine air filter and it cost me something around $12 from Canadian Tire.
I am going to check Canadian Tire for the in-cabin filter too. If your dealer is $32 I can only imagine how much more it is here at our dealerships. I think I read the sign when I went there and it said around $75!

NAPA Auto parts for $17.49

Probably could've gotten somewhere cheaper online, but the air was getting musty and I had guests coming to visit so i just wanted to change it quickly.

Last week I purchased both an engine air filter and a cabin air filter from my local dealer and both were less than $21 each. I have replaced the engine filter and will be doing the cabin filter sometime this month. I think next time I may order the Wix filters or NAPA.

I've found a place where I can get them cheap and re-sell for about $15 a filter. Would anyone be interested?

I called the dealer here in Calgary Alberta and they wanted $75.00 for both the in cabin and engine air filter. Installation for warranty purposes for just the in cabin was $147.00 including the filter. I went to NAPA and bought both filters for $33.00 and my 12 yr old son replaced the in cabin one after I relayed the info from the forums here to him and I replaced the engine filter.

Fram makes a cabin filter for the Versa in their arm and hammer fresh filter line. I bought one when I had to change it again so I assume they have it in the regular line of cabin filters too and there's no longer a need to hunt it down since Fram filters can even be found in WalMart. I would never touch their oil filters but it would be hard to mess up an air filter.

I called my dealer up, for just the IN CABIN FILTER it is $47.54 ... that is for just the filter, no installation included.

I'm going to order a few through Logical Source. I'm thinking of stocking up on a few since it's less than $10 each on there!

Ok I just placed the order. I bought myself 3 in cabin filters, and one for my brother's SE-R ... for all four filters, and shipping to Canada it came to $39.97 :D :woot:

We are getting ripped off from the dealers here in Canada. This is crazy! Now the dealer tells me it's going to cost me $750.00 less the in cabin air filter ($150.00) for my 48,000 service to keep my warranty intact. WTF ?

Really???? :wtf2:

That is ridiculous. I don't go to my dealership, ever. HAHA! I call them to find out prices, then go elsewhere. I have never taken her there except for her free oil changes. I might, keyword *MIGHT* go there during the winter for an oil change; BUT only if they send me a decent coupon for one. I've just been buying the filter from my dealership for $8.00 and then changing her oil at home. But in the winter, when it's minus 20 out, I may take her somewhere to get the oil changed.

Why do you have to take it to them? Do whatever the book says that has to be done on your own. Change whatever you need to change at home. That's what I do. I keep my receipts for the products, record the mileage, and keep it in a file. They can't void your warranty for not going to them for servicing! ]

Where in Canada are you?

@iluvmyVersa08, true on the receipts and papers for the warranty, as long as you have them, your all good.

That's the reason why I never go to the dealership anymore. Once my free oil changes were up, I have not been back since ... Only time I go back is to buy an oil filter from the parts department.

it is quite ridiculous, i would never pay that much. my oil change card is up at 100000km or 5years (whichever is first) and when that is done, i'll doing it on my own as well. i really hate my dealerships service department.

What's your oil change card?

I was given 5 free oil changes with my warranty. This past April was the first one I've had to do on my own. We ended up changing the oil at home. We bought the filter for $8.00 from the dealership and the oil from Canadian Tire. Total cost to us was about $20.

I recently got oil on sale at CT for $6.00 :D So I bought a jug to save for my next oil change. I'll probably change it before the fall.
