Does anyone know where i can buy the apexi active tail silencer for my car? My gt spec exhaust is really loud (gave me a huge headache drving from Sac to SF), and the silencer it came with makes my car sound like an angry bumble bee (not good) .

Uggggghhhh, silencers.

No offense, but you may as well put a potato in the tailpipe and poke a 1" hole in it.

Lots of $ down the drain.

You'd have one really dirty baked potato!

First... check the sponsors.. I know XAT, Enjuku, and truboost.com all carry Apex-i products. Give them a call and see what they can do for you. Other sponsors may as well.

I didn't see the product listed direcly, but if you call them up and ask, they should be able to help you out.

Good luck!

I have a Megan exhaust... It sounds awesome with my RB20. But, it does get a little loud after a while with my convertible top down. It came with a silencer. I love the silencer! It sounds alright with it in... more like a stock engine. It doesn't sound buzzy at all. I definitely hurts power a bit, but for just cruising around, I really like it.

Then if I want to terrorize some honda's i can take it out and unleash the real sound... there is nothing like the sound of a RB engine!

Cyrus was talking about getting a headache after a 3 hour drive. A silencer is great to have for those times that you just want to get from one place to another in peace.

I have to agree with the dislike of a silencer. Whats the point of getting 2.5" piping or more just to plug it up at the end with a 1" pipe? Just get one that isn't so loud in the first place.

We carry them where I work (we are direct with A'PEXi), but that is a Japanese market part, i.e., expect a long delay, I would imagine anyways. Most of thier parts that are Japanese market are not stocked in the US.

For people who actually only race at the track with their daily drivers, a silencer is a life saver! It's not like the thing is permanent. It's only there when you need it... for say, long trips? If you get an exhaust that doesn't have that option, you'd be SOL. Besides the RS*R, what other aftermarket exhausts are relatively quiet? Not too many...

well the reason i wanted to get it is that i read a review of it in a magazine, not sure which one, but they compared it on a gt spec exhaust, the exhaust with no silencer, and the silencer it comes with. and they said that it didnt lose much hp( i thinka 30 loss compared to the 100 loss of the normal silencer) and it lower the dB rating by 30 where the normal silencer lowered it by 35. btw this was on a r33 skyline with roughly 400hp
