I have searched and searched. I cant find a whole lot of info on 16" racing wheels for grip driving. Im not into drift, so these cant be so wide that i cant fit a decent sized tire on them. I cant go with something thats a huge offset, because i dont want to stretch the tire. I figure if i cant get a set of 16x7.5 up front and some 16x8.5 in the rear, then i can get a good set of tires on there that will hold well without wanting to oversteer. A good freind of mine runs around with 300zx wheels and some nice es100's with the tire size 245/45 on the rear,a nd 225/50 on the front. The perfect setup for grip from what i can see. I want a set of hoosiers for those measurements, but i cant find a set of good wheels ANYWHERE. Are the 300zx TT wheels a good choice to use? ill use spacers on them about 10mm all around, but i want to make sure they arent a heavy choice to go with.I see alot of drifting tal going on around here, how about so grip guys--are there any of those around anymore? lol

There dont seem to be very many. I ran a search on http://www.wheelspecs.com and they have only 2 listed

the first set are from the 90-96 nissan 300zx turbo and the others were Buddy Club P1 Racing SF

youll find that there is more options in the 17 inch range for that wide of a tire, or rather than 8.5 try a search for just 8 inch

edit: here are the results for 16X8 http://www.wheelspecs.com/spec...onID=

If it's any help. I found that Team Dynamics Pro Race series has lightweight designs in 16x7", plus they have the offsets our 240's need. I'm planning on going with the 16" ProRace 2 wheel, in +25. 13lbs too!

+25 and 7" wide wheel still is fugly.

Advan has some 16x8 but i think offset is limited. check Volk as well.

if going with wheels and you have coilovers you need at least +20 or lower.

I didn't mention that the lowest they had was +15 for the ProRace2. Team Dynamics is worth a look IMO.

You really should consider some 17's. You can get nice low pro tires and come out with the same (+ or -) overall diameter as stock (not losing any gearing) very easily.

Once you step up to 17's your options expand ten fold. BTW you dont need 20 offset or lower. I have 17x9 +24 with HE's and they fit great with 245/40 in the rear.

I have 17x7's ont eh car now--but they arent wide enough for my taste. I would go with a 17x9 fn01r-c if i chose to go with a wider 17" wheel i think. Im wanting a 16" wheel to fit a good sized sidewall thatll help with grip and have less drift tendancy.ill chack that site out--thanks--any other wheels anyone know of? the 300zx wheels--does anyone use the for racing?

the S14 can eat up tires in the rear. you can easily fit a 10" tire. or a higher offset tire and have no problems in the rear because of soo much clearance. but the same isn't for the front. with my coilovers i was rubbing with 40mm spacing (stock rims) and now with the 17" rims i am like 1mm or a little more from the coils. problem now is that i rub on other parts of the car. a spacing of +15 would be ideal because you wouldn't run into these problems.

the widest 16 i could find was 8.5 and it was 4 or 5 lug. So, i think i won't need to do a lug conversion after all on my S13 :)

You can find them in the US, the majority of sites i pulled up on Froogle, gave me a lot of miata online stores, but here's a site that has them in multiple offsets:

http://www.fastlane-motorsport...Race2

another site:http://store.yahoo.com/champio....html

They're not pretty, i'd rather have a rim with a nice 1" or 2" lip-- but i think they'll do the job, the Hi-Power Silver ones look best i think:

theya re 4 lug. Unles they offer them in a 5 lug-it wont help me out.Also--whats the width on those? Theyd look good on an s13 with some hoosiers--proabbly handle well if they are offered in different offsets.

Just find some Z32 wheels. I think they are 16x7/16x8 or 7.5/8.5, can't remember exactly. They are 5 lug too.

chunki--thats what i was looking for--but they are kind of hard to find and the prices are about the same as what some aftermarket 16's go for--i would like the z32 wheels if they were a little more accessable. Some 16's i have seen look very nice and i would love to have them. The z32 wheels are cool, but they have to use spacers on the front to clear the spring/shock combo im using. they do have a good width though...7.5 up front and 8.5 out back.

Ebay isn't the best place for buddy club rims, becuase they are in limited widths and offsets. Ebay IS the best place for the Z wheels though. I've been looking to get a set for awhile, but I'm picky. I don't want to pay for shipping so it has to be close, and I want them to have tires on them so I can drive around on them for awhile before having to dump on new tires.

20lb is reasonably light for a 8.5in wheels. Not super light, but far from HEAVY.
