Do they make high output alternators for the 3rd gen? If so does anyone know where i can check them out online or what stores carry them?

Why do you need a higher output alt? Sure a bigger battery just wouldnt work?

the only reason you should even have a need for a greater alternator is if you have some upgraded audio equipment. in this case, you should not worry with a stronger alternator. simply take care of the audio equipment and your alternator by adding at least one 1 farad cap per 250 watts. this will help solve that issue. if you want to better the scenario, get a kinetik 1800 power cell to replace your battery, then run another in the back directly off of the alternator to supply the power to the audio setup.

Well the audio is one problem, my lights dim when listening. So i dont even play my radio at night anymore, lol. And also whenever i put it into gear my lights will dim and when i accelerate the lights get bright again. This is a new alt. I just bought it like last month.

Well, than again, i guess it could be the battery, its about 3 1/2 years old but it still seems pretty good.

get a fresh battery, and add two 1 farad caps and you should be fine bro.

Ive also heard that you can use a battery in place of those caps. I think the advantage is that a battery already has a charge when you start where as the caps need to be charged?
