I wrecked my 240 and got insurance money for it. Neway I decided the only way I'll ever get an SR20DET is to buy the engine before i buy the car. I've been looking on the internet and the best place it seems to buy an engine is SRSWAP.COM Has anyone bought an engine from them? Do they have a good reputation? I would buy one in St. Louis, but this place sucks to buy an SR20DET. The cheapest I could find was 3500 for the engine. Oh yeah St. louis sucks if your trying to buy a 240 too. I hate the Mid-West sometimes.

SRswap.com is HeavyThrottle's site, they're a sponsor, and they've got a longstanding reputation here.

Phase2 is another sponsor that always gets top notch reviews from customers. Both sponsor links can be found at left<-----------------------------------------------

What are you going to do with just an engine? Sounds like you have just enough money for a motor but no car, it also doesnt seem like you could do the swap yourself, best bet for you would be to buy a 240 with an SR swap already.

So you wreck your car with a less powerful engine.. Are you sure you want a more powerful, not to mention turbocharged engine? Anyway Phase2Motortrend, Heavy Throttle, Liberal USA, Venus-Auto.. All godd places from what I hear.

S14Life, I wouldn't judge his driving abilities without knowing how he wrecked his car...

Also, you can try Night Szevyn Racing

A van came into my lane and hit me head on. Thats how i wrecked my car. Plus I never drove the car like an idiot. And for the swapping part, I have a bunch of friends who are really car savy, plus they know and I know alot of ppl who have done the swap. Honestly, I dont know much about cars. Compared to some people. I know enough to get me around. I didnt learn all the stuff I know about cars form Fast and Furious or wtching pimp my ride and those other shows. I dont know if ur trying to say that I am a ricer bc I want an engine that suddenly got popular. All I do know that I've have wanted to get an sr20 for like 3 yrs but never saved the money. This is prob my only chance to get one so I'm gonna do it. I've gone a month without a car. I can wait another 2 months.

Stay away from Venus-Auto unless you can pick up the motor in person. I had a bad experience with them, and so have a lot of other people.

I am going to buy my engine from http://www.totaljdm.com. THey were formally total-boost.com if u put that into the address bar it will transfer u. My friends are buying there honda engines there also. Its seems like they are good. There engines are in Canada. Inspected twice in Japan and then once in the warehouse in Canada. ANd the shipping is only less than 300 bucks. Im seriously thinking of going there becuase venus-auto is apparently a bad place to go. -mOUse

I bought from venus 2 times without going to see the motor in person.... both rb20det clips came with everything I needed to complete the swap. And when I had a problem with the gauge cluster they had a new one at my doorstep within a week. Going to see what your going to buy before you buy it is always a good idea no matter where you buy it. I will probably buy from them again when I do my next swap.....unless someone else can match their prices??? anyone?
