I looked at a new members user name and it kind of mad me laugh. So I'm just curious about how you chose your user name or why.
Mine is because I'm originally from Toronto.

My real name is Wing, it's a Chinese name but I'm Vietnamese/Chinese.
Anyways back in Jr. High School, me and my buddies used to play this game called "Power Stone" on Sega Dreamcast.
So my buddies started to call me WangTang from one of the characters on Power Stone and this name has stuck with me since then and I have been using it as my screen name on public sites. 408 is the area code I live in San Jose,CA

My first name is actually Laurent, picked my Mum who is from Paris - hence the spelling. It's pronounced: law-RAW.
Although this name was better than my Dad's 1st choice of "Dante", but still is a bit poncy of a name. My mates kind of slurred it into Larz when soused at the pubs and somehow it stuck. That's what I've been called by everyone but my Mum, who calls me Laurent and with her accent and the French-rolled R, it sounds brilliant, but not very He-Manly.

Done! Hey OP, this would make a great topic over in General Chat. I'd like your permission to move it so that more people can see it and add their story. :dblthumb:

Sure, if you can just make a sub thread here with a link to it after you move it because I'm sure many here don't go there....and there is one guy in here in particular I'm waiting to hear where he got his name from...the main reason i made this lol.

Hm, what a shame! And to think I've come to like that name because of your posts. I think it has given you an identity here.

I'm Tunde. The name Costee goes back to secondary (junior?) school days when we got acquainted with the mathematical terms of tangent, cosine, and sine. One of our fellows was nicknamed Popo, which on a whim one day I changed to Sinepopo. He didn't like it, but the name got stuck with our colleagues. In revenge (or so he thought) he decided to add cosine to my name to become Cosinetunde.I was not averse to that and converted it to Costunde. I changed it further to Costee and it indeed became a pet name for me. My old and very close friends call me Costee.

Meh. I don't want to make anything famous about my name. Just enjoy being a member and helping peeps out.

My avatars change with the tv series I'm currently watching and the name comes from what the guys used to call me back in the day and my birth year.

Mine's fairly obvious. Huge fan of SF,F&H. Star Wars is one of my all-time favorite movies.

I like DOOM. Both the thing and the videogame.

The minister part came from my first non-throwaway email address as a kid. I just thought it sounded cool.

Oh, and just because it's worth throwing out there:
I was wandering around singing "doom" under my breath long before Invader Zim was ever imagined.

WD stands for White Devil. I got that nickname over on Okinawa from some of my Asian friends in my CSAR unit.

I honestly have no idea where Papasmurf came from (you know, besides the smurfs), but 2k3 is 2003, the year I graduated high school.
I couldn't wait to get out of that place.

My last name is Boatwright. A friend in middle-school started calling me Shipleft. That nickname stuck until somebody called me float for short. The 6969 is for the obviously juvenile reason. I've been using NismoMan240sx everywhere else for a long time, but I've never bothered to change it here because I've had it for so long. WWWAAAYYYY back before NICO aquired the original 240sx forums, I was KS_Honda_killer, or something like that.... In hindsight, I have terrible SN selection skills.

I noticed you're a HL fan! It's my favourite game. My username on steam is 'Big Bad'.
