Zenki's are the sex.

Koukis are nice but the lines dont flow very well IMO. Especially ones without a chin spoiler... they look like poo.

what's with the ignorant "japs" remark? If you don't like the terminology, go buy an american or english car.

I have 95 240, and before that I had a mx-6... They look nothing alike. A 95 240 looks kickass, while a mx-6 looks like a fish

Now that i think about it i dont understand how you could confuse a zenki and an mx-6. the mx-6's body is very narrow... almost like a foot. a zenki's is thicker, wider, and sits lower to the ground.

You are blind as a bat if you think the mx6 looks like the zenki s14. Here's a hint: The zenki s14 HAS A GRILL AND THE MX6 DOES NOT

wasnt that alot more understandable than "oh... zenki zenki zenki... kouki kouki kouki... im mr jdm yo"

for the most part, we are in america, we drive AMERICAN 240sx's, and they have the AMERICAN 2.4 liter engines.

drunkmonkalan: you are retarded. kouki and zenki has to do with which year the car is. it has nothing to do with the engine.

Ahh yes, because the American terminology for the car is not good enough. I found the whole Zenki/Kouki thing confusing at first. Asked my Japanese friend what it meant and he had no clue. I think I understand now. Its like calling a 300ZX a Fairlady, an Altima a Bluebird, a 240 a Silvia (and then arguing over how to pronounce the world Silvia in Japanese) and a toyota Corolla an AE86.

No thats not quite it. Zenki and Kouki refer to different year/models of silvias and 240s. For example, a 1998 silvia is a kouki. A 1998 240sx is also a kouki. Its really all about the body style and the year it was built.

I guess I dont quite fully understand this rage. I just dont see the Impreza guys running around calling their Impreza a GM6, GC8, GDB or GDA. Even these codes are offical codes put on our VIN plates. Kouki and Zenki from what I understand are japanese terms.

I actually didn't know it was a rage at all. I simply use the terms because they are the only words I know to differentiate between the 95-96 style and the 97-98 style.

You do have to admit, that these two terms have been thrown around a lot on the board for the past few months. What ever floats your boats guys. I am trying to comprehend this all. I guess its like me calling the 02-03 the bug eye look and the 04-05 the **** look.

Ok... you guys are a little out of control. I dodnt realize my roll call of zenki lovers was going to turn into an all out brawl.

1) I dont see how someone can get mad at saying zenki and kouki. Thats like getting mad at someone because they called Nissan Corporation of America simply- Nissan. Nissan is japanese as far as i can tell, i mean im not linguist by any means, but i can pretty much figure out that Nissan is japanese. we are dealing with japanese cars, if you dont like using japanese terminology than i really dont know what to tell you.

2) Quote »for the most part, we are in america, we drive AMERICAN 240sx's, and they have the AMERICAN 2.4 liter engines.[/quote] So since its made in the USA its not an import car? I dont understand. Regardless of where its made, its a japanese car. alot of american cars arent made in america... so should we start calling high performance domestic cars "Guatamalian" or "Mexican Muscle cars"?

With the car industry the way it is now, the lines are blury. One could claim that we drive French cars since Nissan is owned by Renault.

No worries, 240SXedUp. I am just trying to understand everything. Even though I disagree with your love. I think that the S-13s look better. :D

hey guysi didnt get mad u were calling them zenki and what not... i was just saying that it gets kind of annoying if every1 is going around speaking japanese when it is just as easy to say "early model". i went for the longest time without knowing what ppl were saying when they refered to a zenki/kouki model.

turboka37: why the name calling? i said american engines to reinforce the point that i was making: we are in america. its seems quite weird to me that americans of all people want to be like the japanese... of all people.

but yeah... for some weird reason whenever i get involved in stuff like this, my posts always get misinterpreted so im going back to just reading instead of posting =)

people say "zenki s14" because its shorter than "second generation 240sx, the early model with the roundy headlights"

It's a free country. You can call the different 240sx generations whatever you want; No one really cares.

Like it was stated earlier, it's easier to type "s14 zenki" than "early 2nd generation 95-96 240sx with the non-projector headlights." An by using "JDM tyte yo" terminology I'm also sure they will find it easier to understand what models we are talking about.

i love camry's :)

I liked the zenki s14's, that was my first 240, but there is a somewhat distaste for them now, giving past circumstances. I just have a fondness for the s13's now, whether it be the zenki (pignose), the chuki, or the kouki s13 (which we didn't see in america).

I think we can all agree though, most of us in this forum are for the same reason, we love our 240's no matter which style or which generation.

fyi:180sx89-90 = zenki = origional91-94 = chuki = middle 95-98? = kouki = final

s14

95-96 = zenki = not as cool as 180sx =)~97-98 = kouki = not as cool as 180sx either ; )

s15

99-2001? = who cares none of us will ever have one (arguably cooler than the 180sx).
