from what i can tell, it's in the transmission tailsection.., behind the shiftlever..

My question is: Is there a difference in the DOHC speed sensor of a manual trans vs. auto trans? I am with the understanding that there is definitely a difference between the sohc and dohc sensors..

I don't think there is a difference between the auto and manual or SOHC and DOHC ones. I think all the KA engine ones are exactly the same. Its a two wire sensor at the very back of the transmission, small dark grey plug. Wire colors are Black/Yellow and Green/Yellow.
