Well guys just noticed something a little funny.

I notice that from a standstill when I hit the gas pedal with the car in drive it kind of seems like it isn't pulling until about 1800 to 2000 rpm then it just takes off and you can feel the car pulling you in your seat. But if I put the car in one and hit it it gives me a little peel out and just goes.

Now to aid in the diagnostic's1. No fuel pump hum.2. 93 Octane gas only.3. Just used BG 403 which was what the dealer had.

If I lightly tap on the gas and let it roll and then hit it, it will give me all the power on demand.

Is it the 2nd gear start feature that is causing this or something else.

All opinions are welcome.

Thats exactly it, its starting in 2nd gear...

I remember when I drove a 90-93 and the 2nd gear start really makes it start smooth, you can give it all the gas you want and its smooth sailing...

Yeah it is smooth

I guess I just have to remeber that when I want to get up and go to put the shifter in one. I did it last night just to see what the Q offers and I must say that it is something. I met a girl with a 93 Q and she asked me if mine was a 93, her face dropped when I told her it was a 90. It looks that good. It also runs that good. This 2 ton beast just takes off.

Also I drove the thunderbird I used to have that I sold to my friend and I have to admit that it is two different worlds. First the ride height the t-bird is so low I have to put my hand on the rocker pane to push out. Then I drove and felt the power from takeoff to a womping 3800 rpm. The Q is just getting started at 2000 rpm.

Sorry didnt mean to side track off of the original topic. So to correct this I am supposed to use the TCU off of a 93 Q right?

If in the driver's chair, it is by your left leg.

Might want to try to set your TPS to a better setting.. Using Consult or by the manual less than .50 with the idle switch on.
