i'm pretty sure this is the fuel filter that i found, cause it looks similar to the 300zx one i am gonna put on. is it in the engine compartment on the passenger side? kinda down to the side of the engine? i'm pretty sure thats where it is.....

I'm assuming you have a 95. The fuel filter is a LOT smaller on the 240, so it won't look much like the 300zx filter. It is located on the passanger side, wheel well, about half way down. One gas line on top, and one on bottom. (It isn't attached to the engine like you mentioned) The gas lines will not come off easy! Best bet is to wrap a rag around them and twist them off with a pair of vise grips. Also, before you change it, remove the fuel pump fuse, and turn the engine over a couple of times to help empty out the lines. The 300zx filter doesn't fit into the bracket very well, so fabricate your own, or cut one side off the one that's already there, and secure the filter in there with some large hose clamps.

Dude, make sure to have some spare fuel hose with you. Odds are you'll end up tearing a hose if they're really old.

yea i didn't mean attached to the engine, my bad. yea i went back to http://www.240sx.org and got the installation off the FAQ section. do you think the hoses will tear if they are from a '95? i didn't figure they would since they aren't really THAT old. thanks for the replys.

Either that or cut the hoses and just replace them with new hoses.

Cool, didn't you have to cram it in there, becausae the size difference is significant!

hey man, fuel hose isn't expensive at all. It's just handy to have around incase you cut a hose. Keep some with you just incase.

mine fit into the bracket as well, and seems to be snug. Your hoses should be fine Ben, jsut be gentle with them and take your time.

At least you have a good reason. We can accept that so long as they are adequately attractive. : )

Now you just need to get the 300zx fuel pump and JWT rails to make it worth while!!!! Not sure if it actually does any good, but why the hell not!

well you already got it on, but for the other people that search and find this topic maybe this will help :)

I got bored and decided to see how well this pos camera takes pictures in daylight, after a little editing it looked the best the camera was capable of.

oh yeah. the yellow arrow shows where the top of the filter is
