where is the wastegate???

the thing with the arm coming out of it that you can turn and is connected to the turbo....is that the wastegate??? and if it is....is it suppose to go in and out when your accellerate??? please help...my car is acting like **** and wont let me use any PSI.... thanks

If you have a stock turbo then the gold bell looking thing is the "wastegate". In case somebody brings up the term (like me, hehe), an internal wastegate (like what's on your stock turbo) is referred to as an actuator.

As for your question, the actuator will move the arm when a certain boost level is reached. On a stock setup, with your vacuum hoses setup correctly, should open the flapper at 7ish psi.

ok.................well no i have an after market turbo and it is set at like 11psi, so does that mean that the arm will open at 11psi??

The little arm is part of your wastegate actuator, if your wastegate is set at 11lbs then yes it would open at 11lbs

if its set at 11 it will open at 11,what kind of turbo do u have?internal or external wastegate?
