I recently installed some H3 HID's for my fogs. They worked for a couple of days and then nothing. I haven't pulled them apart yet to test for power, as I would like to check the fuse first. The owners manual completely sucks as far as fuse locations, so I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the fuse locations or knows where the fog lights fuse is on an 06 QX?

Thanks,Jonny

Yo frend.. I think you did blew a fuse... The fog lights are not HID. Yes H3 but I think you have to buy an HID Kit. The fuse box are usually located in the engine area... I not really sure... but most jap cars are located under the hood.. so check there, but look into your lights first before you buy more spendy lights... I haven't upgrade mine yet either. I wanted to change all my lights to the same color maybe..... But also wanted more high intense lights as my regular headlights which I believe is HID....and the highbeams.... I believe you can just upgrade it to H3 LEDs which is a little brighter and actually uses less voltage...So.. Yeah...But the HID headlamp bulbs do not run on low-voltage DC current, so they require a ballast with either an internal or external ignitor.

Automotive HID lamps are commonly called 'xenon headlamps', though they are actually metal halide lamps that contain xenon gas.

Hey man,

Sorry - I should have given you a little more information. I actually have already installed my H3 HID's in the car. I had them left over from another project so I figured I would throw them in the QX. They worked for a couple of days but then quit. I finally found the location of the fuse I was looking for last night after some kind assistance from another forum member. Turns out it was blown. I will put another fuse in an see if it blows again. As luck would have it, I have a box of every fuse at home, aside from the 20a that I needed

Actually - if you are planning on it. The H3 HID install is very simple and there is a perfect location to mount your ballast. It looks really cool. Unfortunately my H3's are 6000k and I believe the HID headlights we have are 4300k so the color is a little off. I replaced the rest of the front lights with "cool white" LED's but they don't match like I had hoped. I will try and get some pictures of it tonight if I can.

Thanks for your help man,Jonny
