My 1993 240 sx convertible's check engine light came on just after I bought it On the autozone website I found a desciption on how to find out what it means. But, the description of the location of the ECM seems not to be correct for a convertible.

I cant find the damn thing

Any body out there who knows?

Same place as the Coupe - passenger footwell (kickpanel on right).

It's just a Coupe with the top lopped off...

Welcome to the forums, BTW. Glad to have you aboard!

Thanks, I was looking on the left.

I can see a unit with a number of wires connected, but I have not been able to find the led and the control.

I have not removed the unit.

Do you know were the led and control are on the unit?

yeah you should take it off.. I dunno I have swapped so mine is mounted with zipties so its no big deal to take mine out. anyway the FSM is available for download all over the net and it has exact locations and procedures for checking your codes, as well as the translation for what the codes mean.

Finaly got around to checking the code's.I am getting 32 and 34. After I reset the codes I get 55.After a short drive I gave 34 again.

I need to check the AGR valve and knock sensor connections, but what does 55 mean?

It stopped raining at last in San Franciso, so I am going for a drive

I'm not sure what the ka codes are off the top of my head but for I know that there is a "no code" code.. 55 sounds familiar...

32 is the EGR, 34 is the Detonation Sensor circuit. No idea where that is.You can find the codes in the NICO FAQ's http://www.240sx.org/faq/articles/ecm_codes. It says 32 is for Calif. models only.55 is the "no malfunction" code.

Go to http://www.240sx.org (this site), and on the opening page, there is a small oblong button on the left-hand side labeled "FAQ". Click on that. There are several entries listed in alphabetical order regarding ECM's, including code 32, ECM codes for SOHC and DOHC, and resetting the ECM.
