Topic says it all. It's just a basic question if anyone can help me out.

Where is the Coolant temperature sensor located on SR20DET's?

Also, what are some symptoms I should be looking for if it's malfunctioning?

-ThankS.

I know its located on the intake manifold on top of the Thermastat housing. You should see two little plugs there, one has a flat back (Thermal transmitter) and the square one is the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (which should have a washer between itself and the block). On the S14 it has two wires, a Blue/Orange wire and a black wire Im not sure if this applies to the S13, I'll check. An easy sign of it malfunctioning is when your ECM gives you an Error Code #13. The actual technical way of seeing if it isnt working is to test the resistance.

1. Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor harness connector.2. Check resistance as shown:Temperature (C)[F] Resistance {in K ohms}(20)[68] {2.1-2.9}(50)[122] {0.68-1.00}(80)[176] {0.30-0.33}

Also the Error code #13 is given off when the ECTS circuit is shorted or open,

Everything here was for the S14 and im not sure how much applies to the S13.
