Where is my check engine light? I have an S13 and I have noticed that there aren't any markings on my gauge cluster that indicate the check engine light. I posted pics of my gauge cluster below. Does my cluster look normal? How come there are blank spots for some of the indicator lights?

thanks kamikaze for the CEL & cruise control light descriptions...

apparently, s13, you & I have "federal-emission" cars w/out the CEL (& knock sensor)... only CA-emissioned s13 had them w/ the Icons that kami stated earlier...

I live in NJ, I haven't taken the car to get inspected yet. The car was from Virginia. Do you think it would be a good idea that I get a regular cluster w/the CEL light?

Thanks for the info. What about the blank spot in this pic? It's the first one, what is that for? One last thing, can anyone post a pic of regular analog S13 gauges so I can compare the two? Thanks

If you're going to change the cluster just to pass NJ emissions/inspections, DON'T! It's not needed since they know this is a Federal-emissions car that didn't came w/ the CEL light. Eventhough, it came from VA, that's still not a nazi-CA-emissioned car of that year... just make sure it's tuned up (plugs/cap/rotor/filters/etc.)

They'll just proceed to put it on rollers for the Dyno/exhaust gas test (keep an eye on them; they thought my car was a front-wheel-drive ford probe & almost started to run the car into the big front testing fan LOL)

There is nothing wrong with that, be proud of that $hit!! Now you can rub that in peoples faces like...hey look how many miles I have on my car and it still runs better than your (insert POS car other than Nissan here) and laugh at how much they paid for their car.
